Stockport Expats - try our new map!

ARE you a former resident of Stockport who has moved abroad and who wants to get back in touch with people still living in the town? Do you know of friends or family who have moved overseas and you want to try and track them down? Well here's your chance with our new interactive map ...

In this section, we're giving an opportunity for people who were parted when locals decided to make new lives overseas to make contact once again.

If you are an ex-pat, who wants to know the whereabouts of a pal or relative, send us the details and we'll post them up here. The same is true of locals - let us know if you want to get back in touch with a local who has left these shores. You never know - they might just visit this site, read your message and you could be reunited.

Alternatively, ex-pats can write to us simply if they want to let the folks back home know what they've been up to, how life overseas is treating them, and what they miss about Stockport.

All you have to do to take advantage of this service is to click here to go to our interactive map of the world , then click on the part of the map where you live. Your own pinpoint will appear which you can move to the exact location you want (use the controls on the top-right of the map to move around and to zoom in and out, right down to street level). 

A form will also appear which will allow you to give your name, contact details, reason for moving and anything else you want to share with us. You can amend this information whenever you like by clicking on your pinpoint.

   G'day all, i am writing from Australia, I am Looking for the children of Joe Horton/Haughton, sorry not sure of spelling. who was an employee of Salford Electrics & lived in Salford. Joe & my mother Joan, worked together in the 1960's, at salford electrics. I would like to make contact with Joe's children, as i would like to meet my siblings, they know nothing of me, nor i them. I was born in 1964 at the MRI & shortly after was brought to Australia. I will be coming to Manchester for a visit soon and would really appreciate any help you can give me, to find my family.    I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who can help me find or can account for my father Stanley Wild whose last known address was Bowden House, Edgeley and previous Bideford Rd., Offerton also Eringo Street,off Hall Street. He was a bricklayer/construction worker by trade, if still alive he would be in his mid 80,s at this time. Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
