<description><![CDATA[ <p>STOCKPORT was no stranger to the ‘Britannia’ class of British Railways ‘Pacific’ steam engines.</p>
    <p>In 1952, Edgeley Station saw the ‘Byron’, ‘Tennyson’ and ‘Charles Dickens’ haul the express carriages between London Euston and Manchester London Road (now Piccadilly).</p>
