Angela Kelly11/ 6/2008
ICE shows meet warm appreciation from live audiences and one set to win new fans is a spectacular production of Beauty and the Beast on Ice.
Coming to the Palace Theatre next week, it features Russian ice stars with more than 300 competition medals between them.
Fresh out of the Russian Olympic team, Andrey Chuvilyaev – the world’s tallest professional ice skater at 6’7" – plays the cursed prince in this much-loved story.
Towering above the rest of the company, Andrey will perform the world’s highest lifts with Beauty, Olga Pershankova, who skated at both European and world championship level before joining this renowned troupe of skaters.
The show is expertly choreographed by Cavaliere Giuseppe Arena, who staged the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and has the Italian equivalent of a knighthood for services to dance.
