Angela Kelly17/ 9/2008
A FEAST of music and dance will come to the Lowry when the Rambert Dance Company presents its world premiere of Eternal Light.
This major collaboration between artistic director Mark Baldwin, composer Howard Goodall, designer Michael Howells and milliner Stephen Jones brings together not only the dance company’s talents but also Ad Solem – Manchester University’s chamber choir – which will be accompanied by Rambert’s associate orchestra, London Musici.
Eternal Light is an ambitious work, featuring sumptuous designs, sparkling Swarovski crystals and striking headdresses. It is set to an elegiac and evocative score with Ad Solem soloists Elizabeth Atherton and Adrian Powter adding to the musical celebration.
Following an Olivier Award nomination, Mark Baldwin has created his second major new work for the dance company, merging several different artforms in a groundbreaking performance.
