This week Diary editor Dianne Bourne caught up with Vertu assistant manager Wendy Williams-Harrison, 28, from Bury, to find out about her stylish look.

How would you describe your style?

Classic. I have to wear suits to work, so I do like to dress up. I don't necessarily follow trends but I do like to make things my own.

Where did you buy tonight's outfit and how much did it cost?

Scarf: I made it from fabric from Aberkhan in the Northern Quarter, 70p

Jacket: Gap, £50 in the sale

Tights: Marks and Spencer, £4

Shoes: LK Bennett, £150

Handbag: Mulberry, £495

Who is your style icon?

No one in particular, I take inspiration from different people.

Zara, Reiss, LK Bennett and Agent Provocateur - they have nice stockings!

What's your best ever buy?

My Mulberry handbag. I use it every single day and wouldn't be without it.

What's your biggest fashion mistake?

Probably dungarees!

How much do you usually spend on clothes each month?

£100-150

What item of clothing can't you live without?

My For All Mankind jeans.
