Vigilante fears over travellers targeting 'soft touch' Stockport

by Alex Scapens
9/ 4/2008

RESIDENTS whose lives are being made a misery by travellers could resort to vigilante action, as human rights laws are preventing authorities dealing with the problem effectively.

That was the stark warning given at a Tame Valley Area Committee meeting, where it was said Stockport is seen as an "easy touch".

As of today 16 April, they have now moved onto the car park of the retail park on Sandy Lane, just off the Lancashire Hill roundabout. Good luck to them i say. Perhaps some of the travellers lads will give our own local hoodies and yobs a good kicking?

This country is way too soft because deep down, the authorities know there are still plenty of mugs who follow the rules and pay their taxes.

Welcome to the 21st Century. We have voted, time and again, for the society we now have. It's pink and fluffy and everybody's caring friend. If you work, know right from wrong, have a conscience and respect traditional values; wake up because somebody has stolen your Country while you were daydreaming.

If you follow your instincts, just don't leave any evidence.

What about the rights of the permanant residents in the borough. I know for certain if I didn't pay my council tax I would have someone on my doorstep demanding I pay up. And if I tapped into next doors gas or electricity I would be prosecuted for sure. Stockport council needs to be very careful that it doesn't discriminate against honest, law abiding, bill paying residents. Now wouldn't that make an interesting headline.
