Hero fought off thugs with a cleaver
Alex Scapens25/ 6/2008
A BRAVE trainee store manager stood up to two gun-toting robbers, and fought them off with a meat cleaver, before flinging one into a wine display.
Matthew Cordon, 20, was working at the Cheadle Hulme Co-op, when he found himself staring down the barrel of a gun.
Silly, not worth the risk for someone elses money.

"Although the actions of the staff were extremely brave, I would appeal to anyone that may find themselves in a similar position to comply with any demands and contact the police at the earliest opportunity."
That quickly translates as "well done lads but don't do it again". The standard disclaimer for a risk averse Britain. Well, personally, I do say well done and your spirit is an example to us all. Being at the wrong end of a weapon is not pleasant.
