Lamborghini could be driven out of Stockport
16/ 7/2008
THE future of Stockport town centre’s prestigious Lamborghini dealership is under threat as developers seek to turn it into flats.
A planning application for 65 apartments mixed with shops, on Edward Street, from Quorum Developments, goes before a Council committee tomorrow (July 17) recommended for approval.
It seems, a council spokesman said: "The proposal will provide a good quality mixed use redevelopment of the site. In addition the development will provide an attractive landmark building." That translates to, a money making opportunity for those few who are closely involved. It also probably means that Stockport acquires yet another joy today, tat tomorrow vacuous landmark.
Heaven forbid that Stockport should be associated with anything as un-green and elitist as Lamborghini. It would clearly attract the wrong sort of people to Town
