Drunk football yobs rampage through town

Alex Scapens

ALCOHOL-fuelled football thugs rampaged across Stockport turning the streets into a violent bloodbath as they brawled in front of frightened families.

Residents and business owners watched in horror as around 20 fans who it is believed had been drinking in the town centre, clashed all the way to Heaton Chapel in the aftermath of Saturday's friendly between Stockport County and Manchester City.

This is disgraceful! And we wonder why our children do not turn out any better?? With examples like this, how can they? Maybe if public drunks and people drinking in public were taken care of properly by the authorities this type of thing would not happen. How many people do you see in a day walking down the street with a can or bottle in their hands?? Tougher laws on alcohol is needed!

How horribly one-sided of you Stockport Express to get a comment from City but not county. It takes two to tango and also two to fight.
