Dad, 29, killed in road tragedy
Miles Skinner29/11/2006
EXCLUSIVE
THE family of a 29-year-old New Mills dad have been left devastated after he died in an horrific road accident.
We would like to thank everyone who knew Darren and expressed their sympathies for a young man who was dearly loved by all his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by us, his parents, brother, sister and his lovely partner Sam and beautiful son Ewan.
Thank you all for your comments and kind thoughts.
We also agree with Sam thet the picture of the car was unnecessary.
xx

Daz has been a close friend for 18 years ever since our school days at Marple Hall. Growing up together we have shared many experiences and I am left with a lot of great memories which i will treasure forever. I cannot speak enough about what a great guy Daz was, he will always be greatly missed by me and all his friends.

Darren has been a family friend since he was eleven. We have seen him grow up with our kids, David, Joanne and Lindsay from their schooldays at Marple Hall into a great guy who loved his family. We will treasure our memories of Darren, especially his trip to the Scilly Isle's with David and more recently the time we shared with Darren and Sam at David's wedding. Our thoughts and sympathy are with Sam, Ewan and family at this terrible loss.

It has been hard enough to deal with the death of my partner Darren, and I am grateful for the tribute printed. But there was no need to show the picture of his car, I was physically sick after seeing that, do you people not realise the torment that that has caused me.

Darren was a very close friend. We shared some fantastic moments in life. I was the first person to be introduced to Sam when they met Eight years ago and can remember the glow that she brought to him. Darren truly was one-in-a-million and I am lucky to have some of the unforgettable memories that he shared with me, from mischief at Marple Hall School, his first drink at the Romiley Arms through to him being present at my wedding in Minneapolis, US. I was also lucky enough to spend time with Darren, Sam and his son, Ewan on a recent visit back to the UK... one memory that I will treasure for ever.
He was a person that went above-and-beyond for his friends and family, no matter what the situation, high-times or low-times, Darren would always be there.
I will never forget Darren and will ALWAYS be there for his partner Sam' and Son Ewan.
Thank you for 18 years of memories Daz and for being the best friend you could!!!
