Star hopes to shine in States

A MELLOR star is making his voice heard Stateside as he bids to be the next American Idol.

Tom Lowe, who found fame as one quarter of TV boy band North and South in the 1990s, has been singing for his supper against the best that America has to offer in reality TV contest American Idol.
