The reason for this is obvious. The men are afraid the women might beat them, plain and simple. I've never seen any good woman snooker player wear a short skirt at the table, so that is just nonsense. Besides, the argument that an attractive woman player might put men off their game is like insisting that women wear full purdah in case they excite men with their bodies 'by accident'. I'm not surprised by this ban, though; as a former full-time player, I've seen it all before mnay times. Private club or not, this sort of indefensible sexual discrimination ought to be illegal.

why not have an in house comp if a women finishes in the top three then let them use the tables at least give them a chance. Or have all the real gentlemen left stockport. Come on lads give them a chance.

personaly when growing up in stockport and going to all the clubs playing snooker it never harmed anyone apart from the people scared of playing women. If its men only then why not call it a gay snooker club.

What is the world coming to?? Sonn people will be suggesting women be allowed to vote and drive cars. Knock this crazy idea on the head before it spirals out of control.
