Reindeers 'sleigh' the winter crowds

SANTA arrived in Stockport last week, to the delight of hundreds of youngsters who turned up to greet him and his reindeer.
Despite a very busy schedule, Santa called in at Merseyway Shopping Centre on Wednesday, to receive children’s wish lists and make sure everyone had been nice, and not naughty, this year.
Faces everywhere lit up during the magical reindeer parade and the crowds were entertained with music from the Vernon Building Society Poynton Brass Band and 104.9 Imagine FM.
The reindeer tucked in to their dinner and had a well-earned rest while Santa checked his lists - twice.
Sue Bamford, marketing manager for Merseyway Shopping Centre, said: “We really look forward to welcoming Father Christmas and his reindeer into the centre each year and this really gets the centre into the festive mood.”
The winner of the centre’s children’s Christmas competition joined Santa in his sleigh, before he was flown back to his grotto in Lapland by the reindeer to make his final preparations before the big day.
