Stacie’s back home - thanks to us

THE Cheadle schoolgirl missing for more than two weeks has been reunited with her mum - after reading about herself in last week’s Stockport Express.

Fourteen-year-old Stacie Dalzell had disappeared from her home on Alderdale Road and had not been seen since January 11, leaving her mum Michelle Hoy devastated.

She had been living in a tent, pitched in a derelict house in Cheadle Hulme, but returned for an emotional reunion on Thursday after seeing her picture on the front of the newspaper, and breaking down in tears.

And now Stacie, who goes to school in Cheadle Hulme, has also been able to see her new-born nephew for the first time.

Michelle said: "I am absolutely over the moon, it has been the worst experience of my life and she’s promised she’s not going to do it again.

"I think it was the shock of seeing herself in the paper, Stacie burst into tears and said she wanted to go home to her mum. I found the article in her back pocket when I washed her jeans. She has seen the baby and is making up for lost time, she won’t put him down."

Stacie was first reported missing on October 25 last year after walking out of the family home. Three days later she returned but went missing again on December 6.

She briefly reappeared at her grandparents’ house on Parsonage Way, Cheadle, on January 11.

Michelle said: "I’d gone to work in the morning having had a laugh with her and when I got back she had gone without taking anything, not even underwear. I was devastated and living on my nerves. I couldn’t eat or sleep."
