Edgeley man's death still a mystery

DETECTIVES have reappealed for information over the death of an Edgeley man, as they try to piece together the mystery of how he came by his fatal injuries.

Timothy Walker, 31, was found collapsed on the ground with a fractured skull on Old Chapel Street, Edgeley, on February 12 at around 9pm.

He was rushed to Stepping Hill Hospital where he spent more than a week in intensive care before he lost his battle for life on February 21.

And detectives are now asking people to come forward who may have seen the original incident as it is still unclear what happened.

One police theory is that Timothy may have suffered a fit and subsequently fallen heavily.

Det Insp Terry Sweeney, from Stockport CID, said: "We are looking to speak to anyone that may have seen Timothy in the Edgeley area between 7pm-9pm on the evening of Tuesday February 12, so that we can build a picture of his final movements.

"We have not ruled out that he could have simply fallen over himself, but need to explore all the possibilities, which is why we are appealing for the public’s help."

Timothy was slim, and had a shaved head. At the time of his collapse, he was wearing a navy blue and beige Air Walk jacket, black basketball top, navy blue baseball cap and white shoes. He was also carrying a black Adidas drawstring bag.

Anyone with any information can call Stockport CID on 856 9755 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
