Girl, 13, flees sex fiend

3/ 7/2008

POLICE are releasing an e-fit of a man who exposed himself to a teenager and threatened her with a knife in Stockport.

Officers are re-appealing for witnesses following the incident on Friday 13 June.

At about 3.40pm, the 13-year-old girl was walking through Vernon Park off Stockport Road, when she spotted a white Volkswagen Golf playing loud music with a black man in the passenger seat.

The vehicle is described as a two-door car and was clean and shiny with blacked out windows and full body kit.

The girl continued to walk through the park and when she turned to see if she could still see the car, she was confronted by a black man carrying a knife and with his penis exposed.

The man demanded the girl touch his penis and threatened to stab her, however the girl managed to flee.

The offender is described as black, about 30 years old, very tall and very muscular. He was wearing a black fitted sleeveless top and black tracksuit bottoms. He also had a diamond stud earring in his left ear, closely shaven hair with a swirled pattern cut into the back, and spoke with a deep voice and a Manchester accent.

Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who recognises the man or car, or has information about the incident, to come forward.

Detectives have also stressed this is being treated as an isolated incident and is not being linked to any other crimes.

Detective Constable Colin Price from Stockport CID said: "We now have an e-fit of this man and I want people to take a good look at it to see if they recognise him. I believe he is from outside the Stockport area and is clearly someone who is dangerous and needs to be caught.

"This was a shocking incident on a vulnerable young girl who was understandably terrified and I would urge anyone with information to come forward so we can continue our inquiries. If you saw this man, or perhaps saw the white car, please call us.

"I would like to reassure the community that while incidents of this type are rare, one of our primary concerns is to ensure the welfare of our young people. I would urge young people to stick together when walking home, keep to well-lit areas and avoid taking shortcuts."

Anyone with information is asked to call Stockport CID on 0161 856 9755 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
