Barmaid asaulted in pub robbery

A BARMAID was assaulted and money was stolen in a robbery at a pub in Edgeley.
Police were called to the Gardeners Arms, Northgate, Edgeley following reports of a robbery.
It is believed two men went into the pub using different entrances. One man ordered two drinks and as the barmaid went to get them, the second man, who had gone behind the bar, punched her in the face.
He then took cash from the till and both men ran out of the pub.
The man who ordered the drinks is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall and in his early 30s. He was of a muscular or stocky build, clean-shaven, with very short hair.
He was wearing a lime green coloured t-shirt and spoke with a Manchester accent. He also had a very distinctive tattoo on his left forearm.
There is no description of the second offender.
The incident took place at 6.20pm on Monday 30 June.
Detective Constable Paul Owen of Stockport CID said: “This was a frightening experience for the people involved and this incident will stay with the barmaid for a long time.
“These men think nothing of using violence to get what they want and they need to be caught and held accountable for their actions.
“If anyone recognises the description of the offender or who has information about who committed this crime please get in touch.”
