Special delivery in nick of time

IT was the Christmas present that not even Santa Claus could deliver on time.

But Michelle and Darren Baig did not mind waiting a little longer for the the gift they had always dreamt of.

After spending all of Christmas Day in labour at Stepping Hill Hospital, Michelle, 25, of Davenham Road, North Reddish, proudly gave birth to baby Alexander Gabriel at 12.47am on Boxing Day. And weighing in at 6lb 14oz, baby Alexander really was a bundle of Christmas joy for his ecstatic parents.

Darren Baig, the proud father said: "The baby was due to be born on Christmas day and Michelle went into labour at 8am that morning. It was a pretty amazing Christmas present and I am over the moon that everything went well and that Michelle and Alexander are safe and well."
