Store donates gifts to Express Toy Appeal

SANTA paid a visit to the Sunwin store's new toy department this week to ensure that toys reach Stockport's most deserving children.

The Merseyway-based department store has kindly agreed to make some donations to our 2005 toy appeal, run in conjunction with borough social services, which was launched last week.

Among the array of toys Sunwin handed over is an Eddie Stobart remote control truck, a Fisher Price Winnie the Pooh place set, a Playmobil grocery store and an aircraft carrier with planes.

Store manager Tony Gilchrist said: "Sunwin Department Store has a strong commitment towards helping the local community and we were delighted to be able to contribute towards such a worthy cause."

The Stockport Express and Times are asking for donations of BRAND NEW toys and games for our appeal.

Toys can be delivered to our offices on Wood Street and we will then pass them on to social services which, together with partner organisations, are working to bring Christmas cheer to some of the borough's neediest youngsters.

Last year, toys were given to children in foster care, family centres, and local organisations such as Stockport Women's Aid, Sharecare and the Stockport Women's Centre.
