HUNDREDS of toys and tins picked up from the Stockport Express office put a smile on the faces of young and old this week.
For our Appeal this year, we teamed up with Stockport Council and asked you to donate gifts .
Once again the response was overwhelming and toys and tins have been sent out to some of Stockport's most needy and vulnerable.
Toys have been given to children in foster care, family centres, Stockport Women's Aid, Sharecare and Stockport Women's Centre. Food gifts went to The Wellspring, Age Concern and The Furniture Station connected to Hazel Grove Baptist Church.
A Stockport Women's Aid spokesman said: "The Christmas holidays can be a difficult time for mums and children living away from friends, families and familiar surroundings, and often on a limited budget. We would like to thank all those who donated to the Stockport Express Christmas 2006 Toy Appeal."
