Brown named in Lancs squad

KARL Brown has been named in Lancashire’s squad for the County Championship game with Surrey at Blackpool, which starts on Wednesday.
But there is no room for Mal Loye, who was out for a duck and two on his return to the four-day side against Kent last week.
Captain Stuart Law (back spasm) and Sajid Mahmood (side strain) have both been named in the 14-man squad but will both undergo fitness checks ahead of the vital clash after missing Monday’s NatWest Pro40 defeat to Sussex.
Having started at Hove, Bolton-born 20-year-old batsman Brown would be making his Championship debut if he plays and is up against New Zealand Test player Lou Vincent for a place in the side.
Having lost by 211 runs to Kent, Lancashire have to beat Surrey if they have any chance of winning the title.
