No alarm bells here

WOODLEY Sports manager Chris Willcock remains confident that his side will get back to winning ways quickly.

The Steelmen slipped to a disappointing fourth straight UniBond League reverse on Saturday - 3-0 at home to Garforth Town - but Willcock insists that a victory is just around the corner.

Willcock said: "The scoreline on Saturday did flatter Garforth. Their first goal was a bit fortunate, and then they scored two in the dying minutes when we were pushing for an equaliser.

"Due to one or two players leaving us recently - for one reason or another - we have had to change personnel round somewhat.

"Some new players are taking a little while to settle in, but the effort and the team spirit was fantastic on Saturday.

"I’m very happy with the lads, we are heading back in the right direction. I want to get back to the way we were before our FA Cup exploits.

"We’re not far away, but I do want to add more of a goal threat.

"For some reason we’re mis-firing at the moment, but I am confident that we can get a couple of strikers in before the weekend. I’ve made a few enquiries.

"We’re on a bit of a bad run, but we are still only nine points off the play-off spots and I’m sure we can come through this.

"A couple of wins will fire us right back up the table, there’s certainly no alarm bells ringing yet."

Woodley have no game in midweek, but they are at home again on Saturday when mid-table Lancaster City arrive at Lambeth Grove.

Willcock believes that that game presents another ‘great opportunity’ to pick up three points.
