NEW Woodley Sports manager Ash Berry was unable to resurrect his new side’s form over the Easter weekend.
Another two losses keep Woodley second from bottom in the Unibond First Division North league table, with only Radcliffe Borough below them in the ranks.
Woodley held their own for 90 minutes at mid-table Rossendale United but a penalty in the final minute was scored by Eastwood clinching the home team a narrow victory.
Woodley hosted fifth-placed FC United on Monday and capitulated again in the dying minutes.
The sides were tied on 1-1, Pat McGuire giving Woodley the lead in the 47th minute before Jamie Baguley equalised midway through the second half.
FC United’s decider was a spectacular overhead kick into goal by substitute Stuart Rudd in the 89th minute.
Woodley take on Formby in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire League Cup tomorrow [Thursday] kick-off 8.15pm.
They host Bamber Bridge in the league on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
