A hectic year is beckoning

IT is now just a little over a month from the turn of the year and the start of County’s 125th birthday celebrations.

A whole host of special events are planned to commemorate this milestone, including a pre-season game against five-times European champions, Liverpool.

The club also plans to publish a book of County memories to be released later in 2008 with all proceeds donated to adopted charities Stockport CP, DebRA and the Stockport Sclerosis Society.

The Hatters aim to contact a number of ex-players for their favourite County memory, but they need yours as well.

What is you favourite County memory? It could be an incident in a game, a great goal, a funny anecdote from the terraces, the Blue and White Army in full cry; in fact, anything County related.

John’s Ireland call-up

  • COUNTY defender John Disney has been called up by the Republic of Ireland under-16s for their forthcoming games in France on December 4 and 6. The two fixtures against the French will give Disney the opportunity to add to the cap he received against Wales on August 30.
