Gannon is sitting tight

27/ 2/2008

COUNTY boss Jim Gannon doesn’t anticipate making another move into the loan transfer market presently after last Friday’s successful double swoop for Shaleum Logan and John Ruddy.

Gannon is happy that he has a strong enough squad going into Saturday’s League Two promotion clash at second-placed Hereford, but he has also acknowledged that March is set to be a ‘huge’ month for the club.

Gannon said: "We have considered a number of options, and again I have been delighted with the two new additions, John and Shaleum, but we have got a very well-balanced and strong squad available right now.

"My only concern is up front.

"If we were to lose Liam Dickinson or Adam Proudlock to an injury, then we could have a problem.

"Therefore we need to try and protect against that.

"If we wanted to do some business then I’m sure we could, but for now we’re going to sit tight."

County’s young striker Chris Coward has now returned to Edgeley Park following a month on loan at UniBond Leaguers Woodley Sports, but boss Gannon did state that, with more and more players coming back from injuries, then maybe one or two more players will be allowed to go out on loan in the not-too-distant future.
