Raynes out for two weeks

COUNTY centre-back Michael Raynes will be missing for a fortnight after being forced out of Saturday’s win at Peterborough with a hamstring injury.

He was replaced by Jamie Smith at half-time at London Road.

It’s a blow for Jim Gannon, but the County boss has revealed that midfielder Stephen Gleeson could be available for this weekend’s MK Dons clash after he missed the trip to Peterborough, again with a hamstring strain.

Gleeson has been back at parent club Wolves this week for treatment, and he is progressing well.

Ryan Lowe [shoulder] and Leon McSweeney [hernia] have trained this week, and they will definitely both be available for selection this weekend.

Training sessions have gone particularly well this week as County gear up for their four crucial remaining games.

Gannon said: "I’ve been delighted with the attitude of everybody this week, and the atmosphere around the training ground.

"We’re all enjoying every day together as a group, and we’re all looking forward to Saturday and the next four games.

"The lads have put themselves into a fantastic position.

"The season is still very much alive, and the chances of us securing automatic promotion are still very much alive."

THE County Supporters’ Club have organised a fans forum at the Bungalow, adjacent to the Railway End on Hardcastle Road, tonight [Wed, from 7.30pm]. Jim Gannon and Peter Ward will be in attendance.
