STEPHEN Gleeson’s latest successful loan spell at County has now expired and the Republic of Ireland midfielder has returned to parent club Wolves.
And the dynamic Gleeson returned to Molineux with words of praise ringing in his ears from Hatters boss Jim Gannon.
Gannon said: "We’re sorry to see Stephen go. I personally thanked him for his services after another excellent spell with us."
The County boss has brought two players into the club on loan, however, with hopes high of more to follow before the end of the month.
In comes 20-year-old left-sided Liverpool defender Robbie Threlfall, and 24-year-old Irish striker Dave Mooney, from Reading.
Both have signed initial one-month loan deals, and both were set to be in the squad had last night’s [Tues] postponed home game against Cheltenham gone ahead.
Threlfall has previously enjoyed successful loan spells at Hereford United, while the prolific Mooney has been a target of Gannon’s since his days in charge at Dundalk.
Mooney topped the Eircom League’s scoring charts in 2007, a season in which he was also named Ireland’s Player-of-the-Year.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Gannon has a fully fit squad available for Saturday’s League One trip to Swindon Town. Matty McNeil and Michael Raynes are both now fit again after injuries, while Gareth Owen is also back in the County fold having been recalled from a loan spell at League Two side Port Vale.
