Gaffney’s side next

SHARKS take on second-placed Saracens on Friday night at Edgeley Park, kick off 7.45pm.

The ‘Men in Black’ have started their season in fine style and their 26-19 victory over reigning champions Leicester Tigers made it four wins out of five in the Premiership this season.

Sharks will need to be at their best to defeat Alan Gaffney’s team, but with Scotland’s World Cup players returning to action for the Sharks there should be a lively atmosphere as the Friday night fever grips Edgeley Park.

And as players return, the scramble for the 15 starting places is beginning to hot up.

Pre-booked tickets for the Saracens game are available from £15 for adults and £7 for juniors.

  • OKTOBERFEST begins Wednesday at Edgeley Park.

    The event is an Eastern European beer festival with live music and continental food, which runs until Saturday, when the World Cup final between England and South Africa will be screened.

    Starting on Wednesday the club will be screening the England versus Russia Euro 2008 qualifier game. Entry is free and a cash bar and buffet will be available.

    Doors open at 3.30pm (4pm kick-off).

    On Thursday, Willy Messerschmitt and his musicians will be providing live entertainment in the Insider Suite.

    Sale Sharks players will be in attendance for an autograph signing session and photograph opportunities.

    Pre-ordered tickets for the event cost £10, or £13 on the door.

    Prices include access into the suite, food and your first pint. Doors open at 6.30pm.

    For the Saracens game on Friday, German style-food and selected guest beers will be available in the marquee. Entry, from 5pm onwards. is free.

    Finally, on Saturday fans can watch the World Cup final at Edgeley Park.

    Special offers will be available on selected drinks.

    Entry costs £5, including a German-style buffet. Doors open at 7pm.
