Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe
Juan’s great honour as he secures club captaincy

SHARKS’ Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe will be the new club captain for the 2008/2009 season.
On hearing of his appointment, Lobbe said: "I am delighted to be named as captain of Sale Sharks. This is my third season here and to follow in the footsteps of Jason Robinson and Jason White is indeed a great honour."
Director of Rugby Philippe Saint Andre added: "Juan is a great player and more importantly he is a great team player. I believe he will do a fantastic job leading the players and setting an example in his captain’s role."
CEO James Jennings said: "The appointment of Juan Lobbe as captain is recognition of his great contribution last season.
"The appointment of Sebastian Chabal and Dean Schofield as vice-captains shows the strength in depth we have in natural rugby leaders, and I am sure that they will also make a massive contribution when leading the team through next season.Jason White has been an exemplary captain, and on behalf of the club I wish to thank him for his tremendous contribution both on and off the pitch. Over the last 18 months Jason has struggled with several bad injuries, which particularly disrupted last season. Jason is now returning to full fitness and we hope that he will remain injury free this season in order that he can concentrate on his own rugby and be a major part of our team."
Meanwhile, Sharks have signed 22-year-old centre/wing Anitelia (Andy) Tuilagi, on a four-year contract.
Formerly with Leicester Tigers, Tuilagi played seven games for Leeds Carnegie last season, scoring one try.
He has been capped 14 times by Samoa and was a member of their squad at the 2007 World Cup.
