SALE Sharks virtually guaranteed themselves a place in the next round of the European Challenge Cup after a 33-15 first leg, second round victory in Narbonne on Saturday evening.

Andrew Sheridan, Steve Hanley and Sebastien Bruno all scored tries as Sale recovered well from a shaky start.

The teams meet again at Edgeley Park on Friday [December 10] for the second leg.
