Philippe set to get his man?

SALE Sharks are expected to announce the signing of Newcastle Falcons' Tongan international Epi Taione before the end of the week on what is believed to be a two-year deal.


Taione, 25, has made 65 Zurich Premiership appearances and been capped seven times by his country.


Meanwhile, the Sharks will travel to Connacht for the first leg of their European Challenge Cup semi-final on Saturday, April 2, with the game kicking off at 1pm.


Sale were initially handed home advantage in the first leg after being drawn out of the hat first, but due to Stockport County's game at Edgeley Park against Brentford on the same day, and following consultation with Connacht, the fixtures were reversed.


Both Sale's semi-finals will be screened by Sky Sports, with the return leg taking place on Sunday, April 24.
