Saracens await in Twickenham Sevens

27/ 7/2005

SALE Sharks have been drawn against Premiership rivals Saracens in this year's Compass Group Middlesex Sevens tournament.

The competition, at Twickenham on August 13, features 16 teams, among them all 12 Premiership clubs and a team from the British Army, who won the competition last year.

Apolosi Satala, a soldier and member of the British Army team, said: "I am really looking forward to the challenge of competing against the Guinness Premiership teams, and I know that I will have to be on top of my game in the best form to be selected, as competition for places in the Army team is never taken for granted by any players.

"I love playing at Twickenham and the atmosphere of the Middlesex 7s tournament is absolutely fantastic."

First held in 1926, the Middlesex 7s is one of the oldest sevens competitions in England, last year it attracted more then 30,000 spectators.

The charity event will raise money for the Wooden Spoon Society, helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK, and the Professional Rugby Players' Association Benevolent Fund.

Over the past 10 years the tournament has raised more than £3 million for charity.

Tickets can be bought via Ticketmaster on 0871 871 0777 at £25 for adults and £10 for under-16s.
