Sharks fans could face a lock-out

SUCCESS for Sale Sharks means that some fans could be left out in the cold for the Stockport-based side's biggest-ever games.

Sharks' position at the top of the Guinness Premiership and their flawless run in the Heineken Cup has attracted more fans than ever before to the club, with attendances reaching more than 10,000 on five occasions so far at Edgeley Park this season.

If the Heineken Cup comes to Stockport, in an anticipated home quarter-final tie if results in the European competition continue to go Sharks way, the demand for tickets looks likely to outstrip availability.

The club estimate that as few as 2,500 tickets will be available to non-season ticket holders, due to an away ticket allocation of 25 per cent and five per cent allocation to tournament sponsors, and have launched an initiative to deal with the problem.

Fans attending the next two home games against Bristol, on Sunday, and Newport Gwent Dragons, on January 15, will be entered into a lottery, with a chance to secure tickets for the potential European clash.

To book for the games call the ticket office on 08712 220120 or visit the club website: www.salesharks.com.
