A 26-POINT haul by Charlie Hodgson helped Sale to hold off Bristol and hold on to the top spot in the Zurich Premiership.

The England fly-half scored seven penalties, a conversion and a drop goal, while Sililo Martens went over for a try as the Sharks pipped the determined visiting outfit in front of more than 9,600 fans at Edgeley Park.
