Leicester Tigers 27 Sale Sharks 27

30/ 1/2006

SALE Sharks retain their place at the top of the Guinness Premiership after holding Leicester Tigers to a draw at Welford Road.

Sharks recovered from last week's demoralising pasting by Munster to take Tigers to the wire with a superb first-half performance, which put the visitors 15 points ahead at the interval.

Tries by Dean Schofield and Chris Jones could have handed Sharks victory at the Leicester ground had it not been for Andy Goode, who clawed Tigers back into contention, his boot bringing Leicester level with Sale five minutes before the final whistle.
