Busy Christmas but no whines
Jenny Dixon28/12/2006
DUE to a packed Christmas schedule Sharks players have had little time to spend with their families this year.
The timetabling of two matches in five days meant that a brief visit to their home towns was brought to an abrupt end when players had to return on Christmas night in time to travel to take on Newcastle on Boxing Day.
Sharks' Christmas feast, held after training last week, was unlike most festive parties given that the only drinks on offer were orange or blackcurrant cordial.
Despite missing out on what some regard the most fundamental elements of Christmas: lazy days, alcohol consumption and poor eating habits, Sharks men are philosophical about the lifestyle that rugby dictates.
Express attended the Sharks Christmas lunch and asked a selection of players:
- How will you be spending Christmas this year?
- What is your best memory of Christmas from your childhood?
