Macca’s cracker

12/ 9/2007

CHEADLE Town made progress in the FA Carlsberg Vase on Saturday thanks to a solitary, yet sensational goal from Andy McDonald against St Helens Town.

On the half-hour mark, McDonald moved from midfield into attack and later scored the goal that won the game.

Fully 30 yards from goal, McDonald turned and unleashed a rasping shot high into the top corner of the Saints’ net.

It was certainly a goal worthy of winning any game.

It’s cup action again on Saturday for Cheadle as they travel to Atherton Collieries in the FA Cup.
