Jones sidelined for 3 weeks

SOCCER: Stockport are again in the hunt for a keeper on loan, following the news that Lee Jones is sidelined for three weeks.

Jones is out with an ankle ligament injury which he sustained in training on Christmas Day.

The news means Carlton Palmer is looking for another keeper to bring in on loan. Any new recruit would follow the temporary signings of Pegguy Arphexad and Tim Flowers earlier this season.

Palmer told the club's website: "Jonah, unfortunately, in training on Christmas Day went down to pick up a routine ball and he went over on his ankle and damaged his ligaments. We now need to get another goalkeeper in as cover."

If no new signing emerges Sam Turner - who featured against Barnsley - is favourite to face Birmingham City on Saturday. Andy Dibble, who was on the bench on Saturday, is still not fully fit.
