Stockport and Norris got over the disappointment of their defeat in the Cheshire Cup by progressing through to the third round of the North West Champions Cup with a victory over Stonemasons.

Scott Walsh put them on their way to a 2-0 win, with Keiran Duffy making sure in the second half.

But Offerton Green bowed out 4-3 to Chester side Mail Society, who went through with a goal in the last minute.

Stockport Lads Club hammered Stockport Dynamos 12-0 in the delayed first round tie in the Harold English League Challenge Memorial Trophy, with Steve Cook and John Dickinson both grabbing hat-tricks.

In the second round Juno needed extra-time and penalties to squeeze past Reddish Conservative Club after a 3-3 draw in normal time. Goals from Dave Jenkins, Andy Wilson and Fabien Caqueret looked to have put Juno through, only for a late goal from Reddish's Adam Goulding to force overtime. Gary Leeson and Dave Shaw also netted for Reddish.

After a goalless extra half-hour Juno keeper Mike Turner was the hero, saving two penalties to earn them a third round berth.

Cherry Tree Athletic also progressed, but only after holding off a stirring fightback by Higher Poynton. Athletic were cruising at 4-0 thanks to a Martin Andrews brace and efforts from Dave Moss and James Stanton, only for Nathan Singleton, Chris Hennessey and Paul Fairweather strikes to give the hosts a nervous last 10 minutes.

A treble from Rick Boston was enough for Dilke Celtic to win 3-1 at Railway, Russell Murphy with the Railway reply.

There were also hat-tricks for Andy Cosworth, as Carnforth won an entertaining clash with Cheadle Lions Reserves 6-4, and Dave Morgan, who helped Victoria Park to a comfortable 7-1 win over Reddish Reform.

Cale Green eased past Stockport and Norris Reserves 3-0, thanks to goals from Paco, Paul Edesbury and Stuart Driver.

In the Premier division a double from Kevin Fearns helped Monarch move into second place with a 2-0 win over Hillgate Spartans.

Cheadle Lions came from behind to beat Queens Bredbury 3-1, with efforts from Mike Shaw, Andy Simpson and Justi Twigge. Ashley Boss had put Bredbury in front.

In division one, leaders FC Kenilworth lost 2-1 at home to fellow high-flyers Waggon. A Mike Ryan brace gave Waggon all three points after Darren Murphy's opener.

In division two, Adswood United Reserves moved second after edging Juno Reserves 3-2.

Adswood leapfrog Atlas Red Lion who went down to goals from Steve Riley and Simon Pickford at Sporting Northern.

Offerton Green Reserves inflicted a first defeat on leaders Senior Aerospace with Tyrone Turner grabbing the only goal.

Mount Villa eased to a comfortable 7-2 victory over Spurley Hey, thanks to a Gary Parker treble.

In division four, Romiley Eagles pulled off a remarkable escape with four goals in the last 15 minutes to clinch a 6-6 draw with Romiley Libs.
