ALLY Pickering.
‘We owe them one’
Simon Smedley9/11/2005
WOODLEY Sports make the long trek north to Bishop Auckland on Saturday with a spot of revenge on their minds.
The Steelmen, who also need to get back to winning ways after back-to-back league defeats, travel to Bishop Auckland for an FA Trophy second round tie which has much at stake.
Woodley boss Ally Pickering said: "We owe Bishop one, they beat us earlier on this season 2-0 at home.
"It's a big game with a few bob up for grabs for the winners, but they are struggling in our league at the moment so hopefully we can go there and get a good result.
"We're definitely going for the victory first up."
Woodley lost 2-1 at home to Bridlington Town on Saturday - with Chris Young netting the consolation - in a game in which they frustratingly missed plenty of chances.
Woodley are still comfortably positioned in mid-table in the UniBond first division, but injuries to the likes of Liam Dickenson and Daniel Douglas-Pringle have undoubtedly taken their toll of late.
Meanwhile, Stockport County youngster Jamie Kay has extended his loan spell at Woodley by a further month, and boss Pickering is delighted.
He said: "Jamie has done really well for a 19-year-old, he's getting better and better with every game."
- MIDFIELDER Carlos Meakin has left Woodley and linked up with Conference North neighbours Hyde.
