Clash of the titans set to be televised

STOCKPORT star Tony O'Shea is gearing up for another England appearance when he features in the 12-man squad which takes on Scotland and Wales in the British International Championships over the weekend of April 8-9.

The event, which takes place at the Rhydycar Leisure Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, will be televised on Eurosport 2.

Coverage starts on Saturday, April 8, when Wales face Scotland, then both England's games against Wales on Scotland will be televised the day after.

"I'm really looking forward to the trip to Merthyr next week," said O'Shea. "The British Internationals have not been seen on television for a long while.

"They used to be on 'World of Sport' on ITV on a Saturday afternoon, but that was years ago."

Meanwhile, the draw has been made for the group stages of the prestigious IDL (International Darts League) tournament which takes place in The Hague, Holland, between May 6-14.

O'Shea will battle it out with Mike Veitch, Shaun Greatbatch and Mareno Michels, while Darryl Fitton will face Paul Hanvidge, Phil Taylor and Co Stompe.

PDC world king Taylor heads up a batch of stars featuring at the IDL from the BDO's rival organisation.

Also parading their talents in The Hague will be Colin Lloyd, recent convert Raymond van Barneveld, Ronnie Baxter and Roland Scholten.
