STOCKPORT Georgians have appointed John Morrey as their new manager.
Georgians chairman Ged Newcombe, who has led the six-month long search for a new boss, said: "We are delighted to appoint John, he comes with a wealth of experience in North West Counties football.
"I believe he will be a success both on and off the pitch."
Morrey, a former goalkeeper with Maine Road and Clitheroe, joins Georgians after playing more than 400 games at North West Counties level.
A qualified FA coach, Stockport-based Morrey stood out as an outstanding candidate for the manager's position.
Morrey said: "Georgians is one of the best set-ups around and is the leading amateur side in Stockport.
"We will be working hard to continue the club's recent successes."
Meanwhile, Georgians will be looking to secure some high profile pre-season friendlies, and will commence training in June as they prepare for their challenge in the Manchester League next season.
