RESB celebrate Soccer Six-cess!

THE inaugural KCC Soccer Six tournament on Sunday was a great success, with RESB Limited emerging as the eventual winners.

It was a sweltering day at Stockport County's Manor Farm training ground as 16 teams competed for the KCC Soccer Six trophy and a pair of A Line Italian boots worth £125 per pair.

The group stages proved to be a close-run thing, with the exception of the eventual winners who had too much in their locker.

Main club sponsors Parfetts Cash and Carry won Group A, RESB Ltd won Group B, NK Electrics won Group C and Offerton High School won Group D.

Following tense quarter-finals and semi-finals, the showpiece final saw RESB Ltd and Britannia Hotel Group both gunning for glory.

RESB Ltd did just enough to win the contest, after scoring a clinical second goal to secure a 2-1 victory.

County manager Jim Gannon was on hand to present the trophy to RESB Ltd, along with sponsors KCC Global who presented medals and some fancy footwear.

Tournament organiser Martin Booker said: "We all know football is the nation's favourite game, and all players who took part were passionate and competitive.

"The County players seemed to enjoy it too, after putting themselves in Jim Gannon's shoes for a change.

"Thanks to everyone who took part and we'll look forward to seeing everyone next year."

Sponsors KCC Global were delighted with the day's events. "It was a fantastic event, and we hope to sponsor the tournament again next summer," said Karl McAffrey, KCC Global Director.
