THE Midland eased their relegation worries and piled the pressure on the Nursery after a thrilling Stockport Superleague basement clash.

With the game level at 3-3, Pete Webb (Nursery) and John Beswick (Midland) played the last and deciding game, and it was Beswick who triumphed with a big 107 outshot to take the points back down the A6.

The Jack and Jill moved up to third in the table after beating the Grey Horse 5-2, a team they have had trouble beating in previous years.

Joe Walsh, Paul Cumston, Bob Blakeley, Pete Mutch and Andy Wray all won for the Brinnington outfit, with Mark Turner and Jeff Pearson replying for the Horse.

The Gardeners remain top and went ton crazy at the Bulls Head (Marple) as Darryl Fitton, Pete Connolly, Chris North, John Hollins, Alan Perkin and Tony Daniels all won, with Daniels winning one of his legs in 11 darts to lead the way in the least for the season race.

The Houldsworth got back to winning ways by winning 6-1 at South West Cricket Club. Neil Waterhouse, Andy Fairclough, Dave Adshead, Ray Matthews, Mike English and Barry Riley all won, with Tim McCorkel winning for the Cricket Club.

• TICKETS for the Darryl Fitton and Tony O'Shea exhibition at Brinnington Labour Club on November 29 are selling fast with only a few remaining.
